Can the NOMAD charge a laptop?

No, the NOMAD can not charge a laptop. The NOMAD only puts out about 5V. Laptops operate at a much higher voltage and require more power than the NOMAD is able to produce.

Will the NOMAD charge my devices indoors?

The NOMAD will not effectively charge your device indoors. However, if you hang the panel on a window with the active (Reddish Side) facing the sun, you will be able to charge your devise depending on how much sun is hitting the panel. The more sunlight that hits the panel, the more energy the panel will produce. By offering three different sizes of the NOMAD, we can let the customer decide which model is right for them.

* Always keep in mind that the NOMAD is designed to be used outdoors and rquires direct sunlight for peak performance.

Will the NOMAD work on cloudy days?

The NOMAD will only provide a trickle charge on cloudy days resulting in longer charge times. A faster charge is obtained in bright sun.

Can I take my NOMAD through airport security?

People have taken their NOMAD chargers through security check-points at airports before, but due to new FAA & Security requlations, they are limiting what the will or will not allow a passanger to carry on board an aircraft. Our advice would be to pack it in a suitcase that will be checked upon arrival. As the laws change we are not able to answer this question accurately, so carry it on at Your Own Risk.

Is the NOMAD waterproof?

YES, the panel portion of the NOMAD is waterproof, but the USB connector tip is NOT. Our panels have been through extensive testing and can be used in some of the most adverse conditions. Hovever, the NOMAD is not designed to be used under water or to be submerged for extended periods of time. Doing this can damage the NOMAD and void the Warranty.

How much energy can the NOMAD produce?

The NOMAD's power output is based directly upon how much direct sunlight the panel is exposed to. Unlike most solid crystaline solar panels on the market today. The NOMAD is made from Power Plastic TM, a flexible, light weight, thin film material that captures all different spectrums of light, allowing it to be more versatile in the way its used. It also has a Positive Thermal Coeficient, which means "The Hotter it gets, The better it works". Its because of this trait, that the panel will actually perform better as the temperature goes up. The technical specifications chart below will indicate the power outputs for each model in direct sunlight.

However, if you decide to leave the NOMAD outdoors all the times, it is advised to take it indoors during adverse weather conditions.

Can multiple NOMADs be strung together in aseries to create more power?

NO, the NOMAD is not designed to be strung together in a series to create more power. The USB connector is not designed for this type of operation.
